Christ College Church Vocations Scholarship
For Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Professional Church Career Students
In order to encourage undergraduate students to prepare for full-time service in church professions, Concordia University Irvine has established the Christ College Church Vocations Scholarship. This is a renewable scholarship each year for those who maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA and a 2.8 GPA in certification course work and complete the annual reapplication.
After the first year of college, the student must be fully accepted into one of Concordia’s ministry programs: LCMS Teacher Education, LCMS Pre-Seminary, LCMS Director of Christian Education, LCMS Pre-Deaconess or LCMS Director of Parish Music.
To be considered for the Christ College Church Vocations Scholarship, applicants must:
- Have been an active communicant member of an LCMS congregation for at least one year
- Have an incoming GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Be committed to pursuing a specific LCMS church work program and to taking a call in an LCMS ministry at the completion of their program
- Commit to involvement in campus spiritual life
- Commit to regular attendance at a local LCMS congregation
How to Apply:
- Complete the Christ College Church Vocations Scholarship Application below.
- Please note this application requires your pastor's approval
- Submit two (2) reference forms (1 by an LCMS church worker).
- Complete an interview with a Christ College faculty member.
Once your application is complete, an interview with a Concordia University Irvine Christ College faculty member will be arranged. Students will receive an additional questionnaire to complete before the faculty interview.
